Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Fairlee, MD

Role Description:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our esteemed team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating children of age 6-18 in a school setting who experience challenges with speech, language, communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing the quality of life for our patients by improving their ability to communicate effectively. We're urgently looking to hire for the position.

Schedule: Mon-Fri (7 to 9 hrs) and can work part-time during the summer if needed by the school

 


Responsibilities:

Comprehensive Evaluation - Conduct thorough assessments using standardized tests, observations, and medical histories to identify communication and swallowing disorders.

 

Individualized Treatment Plans - Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals.

 

Therapeutic Interventions - Implement evidence-based therapies and interventions to improve speech production, language comprehension and expression, voice quality, and fluency.

 

Patient and Family Education - Educate patients and their families on understanding and managing communication disorders, offering practical strategies for improved communication.

 

Collaborative Care - Work closely with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, educators, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure holistic treatment.

 

Research and Advocacy -  Engage in research initiatives to advance clinical practices and advocate for patients with communication disorders, promoting awareness and access to effective treatment options.

 

Requirements:

Education : Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).

 

Licensure : Current Maryland state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology or eligibility to obtain licensure.


Certification : ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.


Experience : Completion of Clinical Fellowship (CF) under supervision, demonstrating clinical competency. Needs Pediatric experience; has already worked with children before in a school setting.

 

Skills : Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
