About the Role:

We're looking for a talented mid-level Database Administrator (DBA) to join our hands-on team for a 12-month contract. In this remote role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the health, performance, and security of our customer's databases. This position offers you the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US while applying your skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, test, and maintain database software on RHEL servers.
Perform database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues.
Write and execute complex SQL queries to extract and analyze data.
Secure databases by implementing access controls and user permissions.
Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to understand data needs.
Automate database tasks using scripting languages.

Requirements:

4-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
Proven experience working with database software on RHEL systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Strong understanding of SQL and database normalization principles.
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
A remote-work mindset with the ability to manage time effectively and maintain a presence during West Coast business hours.
