Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Device Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in an outpatient clinic setting. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing patients for visits, maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting providers with treatments and procedures, administering medications, and supporting administrative functions such as scheduling, referrals, authorizations, and in-basket support via the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licensure: Current RN license in New Mexico (RN-NM).
Experience: 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience (2 years preferred) in critical care, interventional cardiology/electrophysiology lab, or cardiac step-down unit. A strong cardiology background is highly preferred.
Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Additional Certifications: Completion of a professional CIED program (e.g., Arrhythmia Technologies Institute, PrepMD, or similar program) preferred.
CIED Experience: Experience with CIED management preferred.
Board Certification: International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Device Management: Perform in-person evaluations and programming of implanted cardiac devices using programmers for all major device manufacturers (Medtronic, Abbott, Boston Scientific, Biotronik).
Clinical Support: Recognize device or lead malfunctions and notify the cardiologist for follow-up or replacement scheduling.
Patient Education: Educate patients and families on post-implant care, device functionality, remote monitoring, and clinic follow-up.
Documentation: Complete necessary documentation for CIED assessments, arrhythmia management, and anticoagulation status. Ensure proper billing documentation and appropriate CPT codes.
Remote Monitoring: Review CIED remote transmissions and telephonic monitoring, addressing alerts and routine transmissions.
Manufacturer Guidelines: Stay informed about device advisories and recalls, following manufacturer recommendations.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the healthcare team to deliver timely, efficient care to CIED patients.
Cross-Coverage: Provide coverage within the CIED department for satellite facilities as needed.
Knowledge Sharing: Serve as an expert resource for device and arrhythmia management, providing guidance to CIED technicians, nurses, advanced practice clinicians (APCs), cardiologists, and primary care providers.
Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing education related to CIED management, heart disease, and related conditions.
