Position: Airport Restaurant Assistant Manager

Location: Reagan National Airport
Restaurant Type: Bar, Casual Dining, Fast Casual

Summary: Responsible for overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations, including hiring, training, and development of staff, adherence to policies and procedures, ensuring food quality and safety, and tracking revenues. May specialize in areas such as bar management or ordering and scheduling responsibilities.

Airport Restaurant Assistant Manager Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of assistant management and / or supervisory experience in full-service restaurants
  • Associate degree or equivalent in Hospitality, Business, or Culinary Arts
  • Ability to work full-time on 8-10 hour shifts including occasional weekends, evenings, mornings, and certain holidays as needed
  • Knowledge of marketing techniques and guest relations
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Commitment to service and integrity
  • Food Handler Manager Certification is a huge plus
Airport Restaurant Assistant Manager Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring adherence to company procedures and overseeing supervisor/employee duties
  • Conducting and contributing to management meetings
  • Scheduling and leading pre-shift/post-shift meetings
  • Managing inventory, ordering, and stocking
  • Implementing revenue-increasing strategies
  • Handling cash transactions and maintaining accurate records
  • Ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of facilities
  • Supervising and developing staff, addressing performance issues
  • Creating and managing staff schedules within budget
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
